The girls daddy is done for the summer (he is a teacher) and this is always such a nice time for all of us. I love to sleep in and he lets me. (he is a morning guy) And the girls of course are just thrilled to have their daddy home all day long every day. So now the morning routine has shifted to the girls getting up with daddy and waiting for mommy to get up. Once I do then they both run and squeal down the hall, jump on the bed and we spend a little while in a big heap of snugly, giggly, happy morning moments. And all the while of course their daddy is entertaining us with the girls toys. He has quite the active imagination. I should tape it and put it on YouTube. It's pretty funny!
I'm so thankful for family. We are simple and live on the edge of what most would consider "poor" I suppose. We could qualify for food stamps though I wouldn't since I know how to budget, make healthy food that's low cost and don't want to add to America's economy problem. I'm learning how to make my kids clothes, my own clothes and I really enjoy refurbishing old furniture. I try to make our home look nice, clean and inviting but at the same time it's just not important for us to be rich in money. I want to teach my girls the importants of being rich in love and family values as well as good honest Christian values. Isn't that what America was all about back in the day? Some how we have lost some of this. I wish we as a nation could get it back. I think we all would be so much happier for it.

That is one cute picture! How nice that you're both able to stay home with your girls during the summer. That would be bliss. Our family lives for the vacation days Daddy gets. They are far and few between.
I almost feel guilty for starting college this fall. It was nice to always be available to help out the kids whenever they needed it at school.
My husband is starting to be a Math teacher, but he has to work 4 hours a day summer school, then go back to college to get certified. When done with that, I hope he can stay home more. Cute girls, enjoy them now, they grow so fast.

Your girls will appreciate the values and secure home that you are providing even though they are too young to verbalize it.
When my two girls went to university, they realized that not everyone had a home with two parents, wholesome cooked food, safe environment etc.
They do a lot of volunteering too and are good citizens.
They also have happy memories of times spent gardening, baking cookies, story times and vacations. They don't remember the teen years!
your girls are beautiful.you are really blessed
It's a real pleasure to read a post with so much sense and meaning. It's good to know there are still lots of real families out there.
I'll be back to visit you again.
Its so neat that the girls can have there daddy home for the summer. What great summer memories!
My husband gets a half day on friday in the summer and I love it.
God Bless

Thank you for this great post! You really struck a chord. In our home we talk a lot about the richness of our lives...a while ago (2 years or so) our son asked us if we were rich, and I said "yes". He then asked for some expensive thing, since his brother said he couldn't get it cuz we aren't rich (brother is 13 years older than him). I told him we have enough money to take care of us, but that we are truly rich in love. Now he regularly says that, telling his mates from school. It's a joy.
Thank you for the nice recommendation on the Entrecard site. It was very nice of you. I look forward to visiting often. DCRose
