My oldest has a very unique outlook on life. I love this about her, I find it so refreshing! This morning we had a small storm pass over us and she decided to be brave and stand next to the window while watching it. I was proud of her for doing this. Normally thunder and lightning is a bit scary but this time is wasn't. As I stood fixing my hair and getting ready for the day she started asking questions about the storm. "Why is the sky crying?" "What made it so sad?" "Why does it keep flashing it's flashlight at me?" "Why is it making so much noise?" Well I tried at first to explain it all in scientific terms as to why storms happen but hey, who am I kidding, she's 4 right?! She wasn't satisfied with my reasoning! So I had to switch gears and think like her. I then started telling her that the sky woke up grumpy from a bad dream he had last night and was telling her all about it. She was happy with that because she then turned back to the window and started a conversation with the "grumpy sky" asking him all about his bad dream and his sadness. Funny thing was every time she asked a question the thunder actually rolled right back!! I had to chuckle at that! I had to chuckle at her to! She was so cute and so girlie, all concerned about the sad, grumpy sky! I just love my little girl!

They are so amazing aren't they? I love the way our little ones look at life. Sometimes I think it would be nice to still have that same outlook.
Somedays I wish it were like that for me too. The simple answers and thinking like a 4 year old. :)
Visiting from SITS to welcome you and say hello :)
LOL! My family is the same way. My three year old was asking about why the wind was blowing so hard. My husband started talking about pressure systems, high pressures, low pressures, blah blah blah. It didn't even make sense to me, let alone a 3-year-old! So finally I said, "the wind is just God blowing you kisses." This made way more sense to her than crazy talk about pressure systems! (Hmmm.... I may have to blog about this now!)
I came by to welcome you to SITS!
